ROUVY signs a three-year contract to become the virtual cycling partner of La Vuelta
Unipublic has signed a three-year agreement with the Czech virtual cycling company ROUVY, which will organize a series of digital events for the virtual edition of Vuelta a España.
The 2021 edition of La Vuelta Virtual starts this month and will run until April 2022, making it the second year in a row that ROUVY has partnered with it.
This partnership should continue until the 2023 race.
The Vuelta Virtual 2021 will consist of stages of the 2021 route of the Vuelta a España in digital format, with the ascent of the Altu of El Gamoniteiru and the sprint through the Burgos district of Gamonal.
ROUVY has chosen five stages which can be completed practically at the same time as the professional race in person – these are stages two, four, six, 11 and 12.
Participants will compete for prizes ranging from official La Vuelta merchandise to VIP tours to in-person racing.
“It’s so exciting to be an exclusive, multi-year official partner of La Vuelta,” said Petr Samek, ROUVY CEO.
“I am sure the fans will appreciate the exquisite and incredible opportunity to join the Grand Tour of Spain online with real training efforts.
“In this way, we explore the new standard of interactivity for cycling events, teleporting the main battles of the tour to the home of every amateur cyclist.
“ROUVY is a specialist in one-on-one simulation of the realistic feeling of being in the real place while cycling indoors.
“So, with ROUVY, everyone can realize the dream of being part of the pro peloton and compare themselves to the best riders on the planet, even from home.”
The Vuelta a España 2021 is scheduled to take place from August 14 to September 5.
Unipublic is the organizer of the race.
