MG Astor obtains industry-first services under CAAP subscription model
New Delhi: MG Motor India announced the CAAP (car-as-a-platform) subscription model for the recently launched MG Astor, allowing the mid-size SUV to get the first on-demand in-car services and subscriptions in service areas audiences, entertainment, security and consumer payments, among others.Also read – Renault Duster offers up to Rs 2.50 Lakh in October 2021. The automaker has partnered with Jio for on-board simulation and technology to provide high-speed on-board connectivity. Customers can access 60 million songs through the JioSaavn app. They will receive a free monthly internet pack of 4 GB in the MG Astor and it can be customized up to 9 GB and 14 GB at an additional cost. MG Motor India has also partnered with Park +, offering MG Astor owners the ability to pre-book and pre-pay parking spaces before reaching their destination. However, this service is only available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore from now on. In the near future, it will be extended to nine cities. As an inaugural offer, owners of MG Astor will receive unlimited free parking for three months, followed by an additional six months for Rs 1,199. The automaker even worked with KoineArth to create India’s first digital vehicle passport. Secured by blockchain, KoineArth guarantees data privacy and allows customers to share their digital passports with third parties such as insurance partners or used car portals. It could help customers achieve higher resale value and better insurance premium based on their driving behavior and service adherence. As an inaugural offer, the digital passport can be used for Rs 1,000 for the first year.
Partnerships will continue to be hosted on the i-Smart hub. MG Motor India will add more services to its subscription model in the future.
The MG Astor was launched in India on October 11. Price between Rs 9.78 lakh and Rs 16.78 lakh (introduction, ex-showroom, India), the new mid-size SUV attacks Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster .
Reservations for the MG Astor will open on October 21. The mid-size SUV can be booked at an authorized dealership of the car manufacturer or through the official website of MG Motor India. The company aims to deliver nearly 5,000 units of the MG Astor in the first batch in November and December 2021.
