Greaves Electric includes insurance and service programs in Diwali offer to boost sales

Greaves Electric Mobility is banking on an omnichannel approach to drive numbers.

Automakers are almost certain to be betting heavily on Diwali sales to further accelerate the pace of demand recovery and the electric vehicle segment is no exception. Greaves Electric Mobility is banking on an omnichannel approach to drive numbers.

The company has undertaken a series of programs to attract greater attendance this festive season. While the showroom price of a Magnus averages around Rs 79,000, consumers can easily get it at a discounted rate for around Rs 75,000 to Rs 76,000 and there are also other programs on top of that.

These include insurance schemes for e-scooters which are between 3,000 and 4,000 rupees per scooter, where Greaves bears the entire cost. That aside, there are specific offers for government employees and businesses. It has key ongoing finance offers, including zero down payment with many banks. In these programs, up to 95% funding is available and the company is also finalizing a combination with Paytm.

The company also has programs across multiple e-commerce channels to boost sales. Sanjay Behl, CEO and Executive Director of Greaves Electric Mobility confirmed that he has “already sold over 200 scooters on Flipkart this festive season. So many of these channels are activated. It’s not just one thing. »

Explaining the electric two-wheeler maker’s sales strategy, Behl explains, “It’s not just a strategy where you depend on a customer to walk into an exclusive car dealership. We also run an awareness program. The company keeps tabs on customer queries on e-commerce sites and proactively pushes them forward.

In a bid to boost the ecosystem to support growth, Behl outlined some key initiatives that make them optimistic. These include –

  • “40% of Ampère was financed last month. This is one of the highest in the electric vehicle industry.
  • The after-sales service or maintenance of the electric scooter is not limited to exclusive dealers. The Greaves Care system, with more than 30,000 points of contact across the country, optimizes the multi-brand channel.
  • There are nearly 200 Greaves outlets selling a host of offerings from other brands, including Greaves. “

The company hopes that the number of sales “will increase to one million this year”. With all the FAME, grants and other ecosystem pushes, Behl expects sales to see “2.5 to 3x growth relative to the industry. For this festive month in particular, the expectation is around “500,000-600,000 – this is where the market seems to be touching this month”.

In terms of overall market share, Greaves Electric Mobility “trends between 11 and 12 percent. That’s where it is, 14% of the total market share, that’s where we’re likely to be,” Behl added.
