New Delhi: FM Logistic India, one of the country’s youngest 3PL service providers, plans to deploy 500 electric vehicles (EVs) for last mile delivery over the next 4 years, a senior company official said.

He added that the company is also partnering with startups to locate charging points for their fleets.

Last year, the first batch of electric vehicles deployed by the company in partnership with agribusiness company WayCool Foods & Products included three-wheelers from a major utility vehicle manufacturer with a load capacity of 500 kg. A total of 30 electric vehicles have been deployed so far to make intra-city deliveries for WayCool, SOUFIANI added.

The 1.4 billion euro Indian wing, headquartered in France, FM Logistic is also aiming for carbon neutrality for its own warehousing operations by 2030.

At present, the Indian logistics market is valued at $ 250 billion. The company expects growth to be supported by the transition from the organized sector to the unorganized sector which currently constitutes 75% of the market.
