Cycling UK launches insurance partnerships with Yellow Jersey and Pedal Cover | Community
Cycling UK has launched two new insurance partnerships with Yellow Jersey and Pedal Cover.
The charity aims to provide other benefits to current members and to capture the increased demand for cycling after the pandemic to help spur member growth.
Currently, Cycling UK includes liability coverage of up to £ 10million in all of its memberships. The charity, however, said it wants to ensure its members have access to a wide range of other insurance products that will provide additional protection.
Georgina Cox, Membership Manager at Cycling UK, said: “Cycling UK knows from its member surveys that insurance is extremely important to them. With many cyclists insuring their bikes with home insurance, we wondered if they all got the coverage they needed.
“Every policy is different and cycle protection is often just an afterthought on the part of the provider, with hidden traps for the unwary. So we wanted to make sure our members get a quality product that works for both them and their beloved bikes.
The charity started working with Yellow Jersey and Pedal Cover. Cycling UK members have the opportunity to get exclusive discounts with both, which include £ 50 off annual Yellow Jersey policies and a 10% reduction on Pedal Cover home insurance (an average saving of £ 50 £ per customer).
“The motto of our brand at Yellow Jersey is’ Free Your Ride! “And that’s exactly what we’re trying to do by offering comprehensive bike insurance for all types of riders to keep them going,” said Ryan Georgiades, General Manager of Yellow Jersey.
“We are delighted to partner with Cycling UK to offer their members access to our products at a great price and allow people to continue to enjoy their bikes. We can’t wait to start working with the Cycling UK team to attract more people to cycling. “
Alyn Thomas, Director of Pedal Cover, added: “Pedal Cover’s home and bike insurance is a unique product, and we are delighted to partner with Cycling UK. Most homeowner cyclists add their bikes to their home insurance, but this often comes with many restrictions.
“The Pedal Cover product is simple; we’ll take care of your home and make sure you have state-of-the-art coverage for your bikes, whether you use it for commuting, shopping or running. “
