26 reasons why you need to go to Motocycle Live | Events | MotoGP

Undoubtedly a highlight of the motorcycling calendar year after year, many of you already know the reasons to come to the show. But apparently some of you need to say why you should go. No idea what that is, but if that’s you, check out this 26-point list of why you should go to Motorcycle Live 2022.

  • Take a free trial in the Test Ride Zone supported by Shoei, Sidi and Spada, where you can also get advice from an IAM spotter on how to improve your own driving and make yourself safer on the roads.

  • Try a motorcycle for the first time in the MCIA TryRide arena with no license requirement and no need for your own riding gear. Although we should warn you, there is no known fix for this bug!

  • Explore the specially designed dirt track in Experience Adventure – backed by a record number of manufacturers including: Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Royal Enfield, Triumph and Yamaha.

  • Check out the full range of models from over 50 manufacturers, including some of the latest additions and even special editions.

  • Watch Visordown’s Question of Bikes on the Black Horse stage. (Without a doubt the highlight of the whole event – some actually say the year, or even the decade, we hear. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!)

  • Touch and sit on motorcycles of prestigious and respected brands.

  • Discover two-wheeled machines you never dreamed of in the ‘Dream Garage’.

  • Meet riding stars and celebrities, including a host of talent from motorcycle racing, circuit racing to roads, and even motocross and trials with legends like Dave Thorpe and Dougie Lampkin.

  • Watch interviews with some of the most interesting two-wheeler experts, as well as riders past and present, on the Black Horse scene.

  • Race against stars in ‘Race an Ace’ on stage – compete against a TT rider on the official Isle of Man TT game for the chance to win a prize – practice! (Although, if you’re just getting started now, you’ll probably have to quit your job and commit to the TT game full-time just to remember the layout.)

  • Have a pint and laugh with other cyclists – is there anything better than talking about cycling over a beer?

  • Take home a VISIN goodie bag if you participate in the VISIN Bike Balance game on the Black Horse Stage – hop on the Ducati TK-01RR e-bike and keep your balance for as long as you can. Each day, the winner will leave with a VISIN heated visor, which will create absolutely no jealousy or envy at the end of November!

  • Exercise your arm muscles and participate in the Biketrac “Stronger for Longer” – hold the 4 kg Grab Bag chains at arm’s length for as long as possible. The person with the fastest time each day will take home a Grab Bag, which seems like a cruel name for a prize given to someone who probably can’t salvage much at the end of their winning time.

  • Celebrate 120 years of Triumph – from the original 1902 moped-style design to supplying an entire Grand Prix grid, winning World Championship races and setting things up to start their Grand Prix journey Motocross prices – in the classic area, brought to you by the National Motorcycle Museum.

  • Meet friends and catch up – who doesn’t love off-season bench racing?

  • Check out some serious custom machines in the Custom Heroes booth, supported by Back Street Heroes, and maybe find some inspiration for your own build? Maybe you want a more traditional custom style, or something totally bonkos. Either way, there’s sure to be something to get the creative juices flowing.

  • Get your kids involved in the Kiddimoto Balance Bike experience – they can participate from as young as 18 months old, and we all have to start somewhere!

  • Try on the size of riding gear and get advice from knowledgeable staff to ensure you’re comfortable and well-protected while riding. There is simply nothing more important than being well protected on the roads.

  • Free indoor parking for motorcycles – a large roof should help you avoid the inevitable November rain on your seat while you amuse yourself in the exhibition halls. A sweet relief from what’s surely up there with the most horrific thing to still be a thing in 2022: a wet saddle.

  • Grab a bargain in the retail area! Let’s face it, the end of November is normally before any of us have even had fun Christmas shopping, but just imagine the stress of late December panic buying being taken away. Doesn’t that sound happy?

  • Get advice from knowledgeable staff at the stands. If you have a motorcycling question, it’s almost guaranteed there’ll be someone out there with the answer you need, from bikes to gear to tires and accessories – if you ask, they will answer.

  • It’s that time of year when insurance needs to be sorted, and at Motorcycle Live you can get a competitive insurance quote from Bikesure Insurance. Sorting out insurance is rarely a pleasant experience, but at least you’ll never be more than a few feet away from new bikes or a decent bit of screen while you’re doing it!

  • Finally, what else do you do in November? There’s not even a race to quench your two-wheeled hunger!
