$ 10 million settlement did not damage Bike Tour Co., court says

Law360 (June 3, 2021, 7:59 p.m. EDT) – Cycle touring company suffered no damage when it reached $ 10 million settlement with injured cyclist, a Pennsylvania appeals court ruled Thursday in a decision that freed insurance broker from litigation.

Bike & Build touring nonprofit suffered no damage when it settled with cyclist Bridget Anderson because in the end he was not responsible for paying the $ 10 million judgment, found the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Anderson had alleged that Bike & Build’s insurance broker had failed to obtain insurance policies protecting the association against the risk of bodily injury to cyclists while on tour.
